2010 Spirits in the Cave presenting sponsor

Big Brothers Big Sisters of South Central Kentucky wishes to thank everyone involved who helped make our 9th annual Spirits in the Cave a big success! We immensely thank our 16 food and beverage vendors who provided a spectacular display of delicious food and drinks, the entertaining music from crowd favorite Exit 4, the generous individuals and businesses who provided us with 190 bid items for our silent auction, as well as all the patrons who attended our fundraiser!

The BBBS staff and board members extend our utmost appreciation to our Presenting Sponsor, English, Lucas, Priest & Owsley; to each of our 51 Cave Cricket Sponsors; our media sponsors and in-kind sponsors.  Thanks to each of you who made it possible for us to achieve our goal of raising about $48,000!

We realize that times are very tight for many folks right now, and it is with much humility and gratitude that Big Brothers Big Sisters expresses our sincerest appreciation for this community's outpouring of support once again for our organization and our mission to help children reach their potential through professionally supported, one-to-one relationships with trusted mentors who promote self-esteem, expand their awareness of life's opportunities and give guidance and support. Thanks to everyone's generous efforts, we are on our way to growing and improving our mentoring services for children in South Central Kentucky in 2010! Our childrens' lives are being transformed by the power of "one" (one volunteer; one donor, . . .).  Won't you consider becoming "one" today, call us at (270) 781-1180 or visit www.bbbsky.com.

Bowl For Kids' Sake is Big Brothers Big Sisters of South Central Kentucky's largest annual fundraising event, which provides half of our annual operating budget.  During this fundraiser, approximately 2,000 individuals in our community turn out to bowl for the benefit of Big Brothers Big Sisters' mentoring programs.  Dollars raised at this event support local volunteer recruitment efforts, as well as provide professional staff who screen volunteers before they are matched, perform monthly monitoring of each match's progress, and organize group events for both active matches and for those children still waiting to be matched.  Our agency supports over 340 matches each year and our goals for 2010 are to serve over 400 children in our community.

The more money raised at
Bowl For Kids' Sake
, the more children Big Brothers Big Sisters will be allowed to serve and inspire to reach their full potential through an ongoing relationship with a caring adult.

Participation in Bowl For Kids' Sake is simple.  Teams are composed of five members, with each member raising at least $30 (totaling a minimum of $150 per team).  Teams are selected by one person who designates himself/herself as "team captain," who then chooses four friends, co-workers, or relatives to bowl with him/her on a team.  Each participant will receive one game of complimentary bowling, food and sodas from our hospitality room, and the opportunity to earn our unique event t-shirts, as well as chances to win a variety of nice prizes.  All proceeds will benefit our local chapter of Big Brothers Big Sisters.
